Success Story: ODScore and ProximityCR

The objective of the Gateway to Costa Rica program is to enhance economic development between Canada and Costa Rica through increased trade in services. The program included training and coaching for the Costa Rican companies on the development of export plans and also included in-bound and outbound trade missions to Canada and Costa Rica in 2017.

Among the many positive outcomes of the Gateway to Trade program, a new mutually beneficial commercial relationship was formed between ProximityCR from Costa Rica and ODScore Inc.  from Canada.  While visiting Costa Rica, and meeting with the Proximity CR team, ODScore was impressed with the technical capabilities and expertise of the team, the ease at which the team communicated in English, and the interest in pursuing a mutually beneficial business relationship. ProximityCR showcased a strong attraction, recruitment, onboarding strategy and HR practices showing care and attention to building the talent of their team. After a reference check process and discussions between company principals, ODScore felt confident to move forward with a pilot project.


The Customer:

Based in Guelph, Ontario, ODScore has a roster of Senior Consultants, project support and technical team members and they work with a network of experts to expand their practice efficiently, bringing the right talent to the table for the right work at the right time. 

ODScore works with local and international clients to identify and implement the disciplines that are essential to organizational success. ODScore’s proprietary virtual learning system, Global OD ( is used by many clients and partners of ODScore as a curation system that drive the learners engagement with the content including a host of content, psychometric assessments as well as a proprietary mentoring program and algorithmic matching all of which is customized to a client’s unique set of requirements and desired outcomes.

The Project:

ProximityCR was hired as a strategic partner to assist the Canadian team with technical and architectural support, development, and input on design enhancements for the Global OD platform. ODScore required technical support to develop and deliver enhanced functionalities and was seeking a partner with the knowledge, expertise, and capacity to improve and accelerate their system development path.

The Process:

ProximityCR set up a dedicated team of developers, designers and a project manager who each have a specific role on the project team. This team is based in Costa Rica, and has the support of the local technical support team. The ProximityCR and ODScore team connect via online communications, where regular project updates are reviewed and discussed.  ProximityCR’s role in this project has included:

  • The development of new features based on client specifications;
  • Accelerating the growth and improvement of the system on predetermined schedule;
  • Evaluating current system functionality and making recommendations on future revisions and enhancements.


The Result:

What started out as an initial two-month pilot project and contract is at present starting to evolve into more of an on-going relationship with ProximityCR.  The benefits of working with a dedicated team have proven to be highly beneficial.
